Scheduling Production Scripts

After you create a Production script, you can schedule a job to run the script one or more times with the Production Job Schedule dialog box.

There are two places in the Workbench interface where you can manage Production job schedules:

Overview pane (Production tab)—Set job schedules for the currently open script. Requires the script to be open.
Start Page—Provides a consolidated view of all schedules set up on the DiveLine connection. See Managing Start Page Schedules for more information about working with schedules on the Start Page.

Creating a Production Job Schedule from the Overview Pane

Production jobs can be set to run once or at regular intervals.

To set up a Production job from the script Overview pane:

Open the Production script.
In the Overview pane, click Add in the Schedules section.

TIP: If the Overview pane is not visible, click anywhere on the white space in the Task Flow pane.

The Production Job Schedule dialog box displays.
In the Production Job Schedule dialog box:
- Provide a meaningful name. The name defaults to the script name prefixed with the Run Configuration name. For example, Mainsales.prd, MAIN_DI_IR_MAIN.prd
- Inspect the Connection and Production Script display-only fields to ensure that you are working with the correct server and script.
- Choose the Run Configuration from the pull-down list if there is more than one configuration. The default is <default>. You define run configurations in the Manage Configurations section of the Overview pane. See Script Configurations.
- Choose the Schedule type from the pull-down list. Each type is described in the following table. Provide any additional details, which vary depending on schedule type.
Click OK.
The job is scheduled and appears in the list of schedules on the script Overview pane and on the Start Page.

Creating a Production Job Schedule from the Start Page

To set up a Production job from the Start Page:

Click Add (green plus sign) on the row for the DiveLine server where the Production script is stored.

The Select File dialog box displays.
Use the Select Project pull-down to change projects as required.
Navigate to the Production script and click Select.

The Production Job Schedule dialog box displays.
In the Production Job Schedule dialog box:
- Provide a meaningful name for the schedule. The name defaults to the script name prefixed with the Run Configuration name. For example, Mainsales.prd, MAIN_DI_IR_MAIN.prd.
- Inspect the Connection and Production Script display-only values to ensure that you are working with the correct server connection and script.
- Choose the Run Configuration from the pull-down list if there is more than one configuration. The default is <default>. You define run configurations in the Manage Configurations section of the Overview pane. See Script Configurations.
- Choose the Schedule type from the pull-down list. Each type is described in the following table. Provide any additional details, which vary depending on schedule type.
Click OK.

The job is scheduled and appears on the Start Page list of schedules and on the script Overview pane.

NOTE: If one user has a schedule's edit dialog box open, any other user has read-only access to the Production Job Schedule dialog box and is not allowed to edit.

Schedule Choices Additional Settings

Schedule Type	Additional Settings	Notes
Never	None	Job only runs manually.
Once	Requires these additional settings: Date Time	Runs once at the specified date and time. NOTE: All time settings use the 24-hour clock.
Daily	Requires these additional settings: Time Start Date Running Until: Indefinitely End Date	Runs daily at the specified time and indefinitely, unless an End Date is specified.
Hourly	Requires these additional settings: Minutes past the hour Start Date Running Until: Indefinitely End Date	Runs hourly at the specified number of minutes past the hour and indefinitely, unless an End Date is specified.
Weekly	Requires these additional settings: Day of the week (multiple days allowed) Time Start Date Running Until: Indefinitely End Date	Runs weekly on each day specified at the time specified and indefinitely, unless an End Date is specified.
Monthly	Requires these additional settings: Monthly interval: Specific Date (1-31) Floating Date (for example "First Monday") Time Start Date Running Until: Indefinitely End Date	Runs monthly on the specified date, or on a floating date, at the time specified and indefinitely, unless an End Date is specified. TIPS: You can use this setting to schedule a job to run twice per month—create two monthly schedules, one for each day. You can use this setting to specify the last day of the month by selecting 31 as the Specific date. This setting runs the job on the last day of the month, even if there are not 31 days in the month. You can schedule a monthly job to run quarterly by using conditional logic or a trigger file to run the process.
Yearly	Requires these additional settings: One or more days Time Start Date Running Until: Indefinitely End Date	Runs yearly on the specified day(s) and indefinitely, unless an End Date is specified. TIPS: You can use this setting to set up a bi-weekly job schedule by entering dates two weeks apart. You can schedule quarterly jobs by creating 4 yearly schedules—one for each quarter.
Multiple times per hour	Requires these additional settings: Time (intervals of 1, 5, 10, 20, or 30 mins) Start Date Running Until: Indefinitely End Date	Runs 2, 3, 6, 12, or 60 times an hour and indefinitely, unless an End Date is specified.

NOTE: Workbench supports scheduling Production scripts. If you upgrade from a prior version of Diver Solution and have scripts from that earlier version that need to run, you can use the di-scheduler.exe application included in the 7.x software distribution package to schedule these Integrator scripts. Alternatively, you can wrap the Integrator script in a Production script.
