Customizing Tabular Columns

To create a new column:

For a detailed description of the Add Column dialog box, see Adding Tabular Columns.

To edit a column:

1. Double-click the header cell on the column that you want to edit.

   The Edit Column dialog box opens. The contents can vary depending on the cBase or model and existing DivePlan

2. Edit the column definition and options.

3. Click OK.

   NOTE: If the column header is a dimension, double-clicking it opens the Edit Column - Dimension Options dialog box, which offers fewer editing options than the Edit Column dialog box. For more information, see Dimension Column Options.

The Edit Column dialog box is the same as the Add Column dialog box. For a detailed description, see Adding Tabular Columns.

To select which available columns are displayed:

1. Select Data > Select Columns.

   The Select Columns dialog box opens.

   

   The Available box lists columns that are hidden. The Selected box lists columns that appear in the dive window.

2. To move a column to the other list, click the column name, and then click >> or <<.

   Alternatively, double-click a column name to move it to the other list.

3. When you are finished moving columns, click OK.
4. To save the changes, select File > Save > Save DivePlan.

NOTE: If the dive window is displaying a cross tabular or a multicross tabular display, the CrossTab Dimension box shows the horizontal dimension. You cannot change the horizontal dimension that appears in the active dive window using this dialog box. However, you can select columns that you want to include in the display in addition to the summary column that was specified when the CrossTab was created.

To rearrange the order of the columns displayed in a tabular or multitab display:

1. On the menu bar, select Data > Select Columns.

   The Select Columns dialog box opens.

2. In the Selected box, select the column heading that you want to move.

3. Click Up or Down until the column is moved where you want it to be.

   NOTE: In the dive window, columns appear left to right in the order listed here.

4. Move other columns if necessary.

5. Click OK.

Alternatively, on the dive window, you can select a column and then use a drag-and-drop operation to move it.

To remove a column from view in a tabular or multitab display:

1. On the menu bar, select Data > Select Columns.

   The Select Columns dialog box opens.

2. In the Selected box, select the column heading that you want to remove from view.

3. Click << to move the column from the Selected box to the Available box.

4. Move other columns if necessary.

5. Click OK.

To change the width of a column, place the pointer on the right border of the column heading until the cursor changes to a resize arrow. Click and hold the left mouse button while dragging to the width that you want, and then release.

NOTE: In multitabular displays, the width of horizontal dimension columns or row labels is limited, depending on the total width of the dive window. These columns do not have horizontal scroll bars.

To change the name that is displayed as the column heading:

1. On the menu bar, select Data > Edit Columns.

   The Edit Columns dialog box opens.

2. In the Columns box, select the column heading that you want to change, and then click Edit.

   The Edit Column dialog box opens.

3. On the Definition tab, select Label is different from name, and then enter the new name in the adjacent box.

   NOTE: The name can contain up to 256 characters. The first character must not be a number. If you enter $(<QuickView_name>), the QuickView value appears as the label.

4. Click OK to close the Edit Column dialog box.

5. Click OK to close the Edit Columns dialog box.
