Creating a Table Editor Portlet

1. In DivePort, browse to the page where you want to add the portlet.

2. On the DivePort toolbar, click Edit to unlock the page and enable edit mode.

   The Edit menu item is replaced with edit tools, including a page context menu chevron.

3. On the toolbar, click the chevron.
4. On the page context menu, click Add a Portlet.

5. On the Add Portlet page, double-click Table Editor Portlet.

   The Edit Table Editor Portlet dialog box opens.

   

6. Select an input table from the Library list.

   NOTE: The library list shows all input tables and document libraries defined in the portal.

   

7. Set the attribute display properties, filters, and other options as you like:

   • Double-click an input table column attribute to change its visibility in the table editor portlet. Specify Visible if you want the column to appear in the portlet, or Hidden if you do not want the column to appear in the portlet.

     

   • If you want to reorder the columns, select the attribute that you want to move, and use a drag and drop operation to move it as you like.
   • Keep Automatically show new library attributes selected if you want the table editor portlet to automatically update when new attributes are added to the input table.
   • If you want to lock the left-most columns in place when users scroll horizontally, enter the number of columns that you want to lock in the Number of columns to lock for horizontal scroll box.

   • If you want columns to appear on the table editor portlet only when specific conditions are met, under the section Filter the rows based on the following rules, click Add.

     The Attribute Filters dialog box opens.

     

     Select an Attribute, and enter a Value. Only rows that match the specified value in that column appear in the table editor portlet. In this example, the portlet displays only rows with an IndustryCode_ID value equal to 2. If Include substring matches is selected, the filter includes rows that contain the value. In this case, rows with values of 2, 12, and 20 display.

     NOTE: The value can be static, or it can contain a QuickView or macro.

   • If you want to prevent users from adding or deleting rows, select Disable Adding and Deleting of Rows.
   • Select an option to enable users to edit the portlet cells or rows from the Edit and Save Mode list:

     • Cell Edit - Cell Save Saves edits to the cell and commits changes instantaneously.

     • Cell Edit - Table Save Saves edits to the cell and refreshes other affected portlets on the page when you click Save Edits. A little red mark appears to indicate that changes are pending. There is also an option to Discard Edits without saving them.

     • Row Edit - Row Save Saves edits to the row.

   • If you have created a customized form, you can select it in the Form to use box. Otherwise, DivePort uses the table default form.
8. click OK.
9. On the toolbar, click Save to save your changes and exit edit mode.

8. Click OK.
9. On the toolbar, click Save to save your changes and exit edit mode.

The size of the default portlet instance is 200x200 px, and the columns are set to a uniform 75 px width.

To assign a specific size for the portlet

1. Right-click the portlet, and on the context menu select Settings.

2. The Portlet Instance Settings dialog box opens.

   

3. In the Size box, enter the dimensions in the format <width> <height> in pixels.

4. Click OK.

The resizing nodes are less precise

1. In edit mode, click the portlet to select it and activate the eight resizing nodes.

   

2. Select a node and use a click-and-drag operation to resize the portlet.

   

3. On the toolbar, click Save to save your changes and exit edit mode.

4. To change the width of a column, place the pointer on the column heading at the right boundary of the column that you want to resize.

   

5. When the cursor changes to a double-headed arrow, click-and-drag the column boundary to the width that you want.

TIP: The triangle next to a column name indicates the data can be sorted. Sorts are case-insensitive, locale-aware, and natural-order.
