Resizing a Portlet

In most cases, you can change the portlet size to improve the page aesthetics or to enhance the impact of the data that is displayed.

You can change the portlet size using the portlet context Settings menu, or use a click-and-drag operation to adjust the portlet boundaries.

Not all portlets can be resized. Note the following exceptions:

  • QuickView portlets are always as big as necessary to accommodate the QuickViews.
  • Menu portlets typically fill the entire page.
  • Web Page portlets use the Frame Size setting from the Edit Web Page Portlet dialog box, regardless of the portlet size setting.
  • Image portlets can be configured to ignore the portlet size setting by clearing the Scale Image to Portlet Frame option on the Edit Image Portlet dialog box. When that is done, the image is drawn at its original size and resizing the portlet has no effect.

IMPORTANT: Portlet sizing issues can result in obscuring underlying content and can have the effect of disabling row or portlet scope click actions.
