Table Editor Options

When you double-click a text file in your project, it opens in the ClosedText Editor view by default.

Click the Table Editor icon in the view switcher to see the same data presented in Table Editor view.

In the Table Editor view, click a header column to sort the data ascending; click again to sort descending.

Both editors have context menus that allow you to manipulate the data view.

Right-click on a header row and choose from the items presented:

Select Columns

Opens the ClosedSelect Columns dialog so you can adjust what columns display in the table and in what order.

Hide Columns Hides the current column from view. To add the column back into the view, use Select Columns.

Menu Item Description

Copy

(Ctrl+C)

 Places the contents of the row onto the clipboard.
Select Columns Opens the Select Columns dialog to adjust the view of the data.
Hide Columns Not available from the row. If selected from a cell, removes the column from view.
Filter

Presents four filter related options:

Filter On Value From a data cell, adds an equals filter to the Manage Filters list with the specified Column and cell value in the Expression. Use the Manage Filters dialog to view.
Filter Column From a data cell, adds an equals filter to the Manage Filters list with the specified Column. You need to supply the Expression.
Manage Filters

Opens the ClosedManage Filters dialog where you manage any existing filters or specify additional criteria to filter the data view.

Manage Filters Item Description
Column The data column selected from those available in the pull down.
Operator

The operator selected from the pull down:

  • equals
  • contains
  • not equal
  • begins with
  • ends with
  • one of: >, >=, <, <=
Expression Case sensitive string to compare the data to.
Match

Indicates how multiple criteria are used:

  • Any—apply filter criteria for each row separately (OR logic)
  • All—apply filter criteria for all rows at once (AND logic)
Clear Filters

Removes all filter rows from the Manage Filters dialog.
Save Saves and applies the filters to the data view.
Clear Filters Clears the list of filters and reverts the data view.
Sort

Presents four sort related options:.

Sort Column Ascending Accessed from a cell, sorts the data in the current column up.
Sort Column Descending Accessed from a cell, sorts the data in the current column down.
Manage Sort

Allows you to open the ClosedManage Sort dialog where you can specify criteria to sort the data view.

Manage Sort Item Description
Column The data column selected from those available in the pull down.
Order Ascending or Descending.
Type

Type for the sort. Choose from:

  • String
  • StringIgnoreCase
  • IntegerInvalidBefore
  • IntegerInvalidAfter
Clear Erases the sort table criteria.
OK Saves the sort criteria and applies it to the displayed data.
Clear Sort Clears criteria from the sort table and reverts the data display.
Edit Table Properties

Opens the Edit Table Properties dialog to adjust the following:

  • Delimiter—tab/comma/semicolon/space/pipe
  • EOL—LF/CRLF/CR
  • Encoding—US-ASCII/UTF-8/UTF-8 without BOM/UTF-16 Little Endian/UTF-16 Big Endian/Western European (Windows)/Windows-1255 (Hebrew)
  • Parse Quotes—yes or no
  • Contains Headers—yes or no
Start Edit Mode Unlocks the table to allow editing.
Insert Row Before This When the table is unlocked, adds a blank row before the current one.
Insert Row After This When the table is unlocked, adds a blank row after the current one.
Delete Row When the table is unlocked, deletes the current row.

Go To Row

(Ctrl+G)

 Displays the Go To Line dialog to enter a line number. When you click OK, that row is centered in your view.

Right-click on any row in the text editor view of either a script or data file, and choose from the items presented:

Context Menu Item Description
Cut Removes the selected item or items from the file and saves them to the clipboard.
Copy Copies the selected item or items to the clipboard.
Paste Pastes the contents of the clipboard to the selected location in the file.

Find

(Ctrl+F)

Opens a ClosedFind dialog.

Text Editor Find

Enter a string in the Find field and select options; use the buttons to locate or highlight your content. For more details see Searching in Scripts.

Find & Replace

(Ctrl+H)

Opens the ClosedFind and replace dialog.

Enter strings in the Find and Replace fields and select options; use the buttons as needed. For more details see Searching in Scripts.

Navigate to

(F12)

For scripts that contain a path to hover over, opens the file in a new tab.
Format selected Formats the selected lines in a standard manner, using two spaces to indent blocks.
Comment selection Indicates the selected lines are to be marked as comments (insert leading //) and not to be used when running the script. Applies when working with Spectre scripts.
Uncomment selection Indicates the selected lines are to be uncommented (remove leading //). Applies when working with Spectre scripts
