Password for DI-ODBC
While DI-ODBC allows you to store your password in a DSN, remember that the password will be saved in plain text in the computer's registry. Other users and other applications running on the same machine will have access to that password.
If possible, it is better not to save the password anywhere—when an application tries to load data from the driver, the driver will pop up a logon dialog. This means logging in each time you refresh the data.
To avoid saving the password, while also not needing to enter it each time, a single sign-on configuration is necessary.
Single Sign-On
To use single sign-on (SSO) via Web Server authentication, do not set Username or Password. Those fields are only used for the Own or System authentication schemes. SSO will happen automatically if you leave the username and password fields blank.
