A subset area gives the user a predetermined location for saving local filters, or subsets, that can be reapplied when the data is updated. Subsets are created from the single dimension value of a central page, which is then saved and applied to the entire data area for later reference. Subsets can be used to isolate individual and group data within large data sets.
Using the subset automatically filters displayed data by the saved value—this includes overview, ad hoc, cross, dive, and report pages, not just central pages.
The subset has full functionality of the button, but filters out unrelated data.
When defined, the subset area is available to all users. However, when in use, the contents of these subset areas are private.
NOTE: A central page can be configured to allow subset creation or not.
