Page Relationships

When you plan the presentation and navigation of your data pages in DiveTab, DI recommends the following approaches:

  • Starting with an overview page, you can link to report, cross, dive, ad hoc pages, and central pages.
  • You can define a sections block with overview, report, cross, dive, and ad hoc pages that link to central pages.
  • You can use overview, report, cross, dive, and ad hoc pages to link to a central page and back.
  • Central pages can link back to overview, report, cross, dive, and ad hoc pages.

NOTE: The initial page can be an overview or tabular page (report, cross, dive, ad hoc).

Some of these relationships need to be defined when the DiveTab application is designed and developed. Other relationships are automatic. For example, links are automatically generated when a dimension used by a central page is specified.

IMPORTANT: You can only link to pages that are contained in the pages block.
