Adding a DiveBook Portlet

  1. In DivePort, browse to the page where you want to add the portlet.
  2. On the DivePort toolbar, click Edit to unlock the page and enable edit mode.

    The Edit menu item is replaced with edit tools, including a page context menu chevron.

  3. On the toolbar, click the chevron.
  4. On the page context menu, click Add a Portlet.
  1. On the Add Portlet page, under Data, double-click DiveBook.

  2. If you are using DivePort 7.1(22) or earlier, proceed to step 9.

  3. If you are using DivePort 7.1(23) or later, and you want users to open the DiveBook defined for them in Workbench, select Use Default DiveBook.

    The Edit DiveBook Portlet Data Source Closeddialog box expands to show the Application Settings.

    Proceed to step 12.

  4. If you are using DivePort 7.1(23) or later, and you want all users to open a specific DiveBook, proceed to step 9.

  5. Click Select a DiveBook.

  6. Select a Project and folder to Look in and browse to the DiveBook that you want to use in the portlet, select it, and then click OK.

  7. Optional. If you want to enable the ability to open the DiveBook using tools other than the portlet instance, click Edit the Application Settings.

    NOTE: The Application Settings coupled with user access levels control what action occurs when the user selects a DiveBook topic:

    • If no application settings are selected, DivePort opens the DiveBook, but without an application, topics cannot be opened.
    • Casual Solution users with access to DivePort only, are limited to Direct, PDF, or Excel options.
    • General Solution users and DivePort Platform users also have access to NetDiver (if enabled).
    • Diver Solution developers and advanced users can use ProDiver.
    • Diver Platform developers and licensed ProDiver users can use ProDiver.
    • Users can select an application from an Application Closedlist located on the top right of the portlet.

      NOTE: The list only shows applications that the current user is licensed to use.

  8. Select the application settings that you want to make available, and then click OK.
  9. Click OK to close the Data Source dialog box.
  10. If needed, resize the portlet instance and move it to a different location on the page.
  11. On the toolbar, click Save to save the portlet instance and lock the page.
