Adding a Background Portlet

There are four types of background portlets. Available options depend on the background type.

Adding a Line

In DivePort, browse to the page where you want to add the portlet.
On the DivePort toolbar, click Edit to unlock the page and enable edit mode.

The Edit menu item is replaced with edit tools, including a page context menu chevron.
On the toolbar, click the chevron.
On the page context menu, click Add a Portlet.

On the Add Portlet page, under Dashboard Design, double-click Background.

The Select a Background Type dialog box opens.
Double-click Line.

The Edit Background Portlet dialog box opens. You can customize the appearance of the line, including color, size, thickness, direction, or the addition of arrow heads; or add click actions.
Edit the properties as you like, and then click OK.
On the toolbar, click Save to save the portlet and exit edit mode.

The portlet is added to the page. Example

Adding a Panel

In DivePort, browse to the page where you want to add the portlet.
On the DivePort toolbar, click Edit to unlock the page and enable edit mode.

The Edit menu item is replaced with edit tools, including a page context menu chevron.
On the toolbar, click the chevron.
On the page context menu, click Add a Portlet.

On the Add Portlet page, under Dashboard Design, double-click Background.

The Select a Background Type dialog box opens.
Double-click Panel.

The Edit Background Portlet dialog box opens. You can customize the appearance of the panel, including size, header background color, and header text; or add click actions.
Edit the properties as you like, and then click OK.
On the toolbar, click Save to save the portlet and exit edit mode.

Adding a Rectangle

In DivePort, browse to the page where you want to add the portlet.
On the DivePort toolbar, click Edit to unlock the page and enable edit mode.

The Edit menu item is replaced with edit tools, including a page context menu chevron.
On the toolbar, click the chevron.
On the page context menu, click Add a Portlet.

On the Add Portlet page, under Dashboard Design, double-click Background.

The Select a Background Type dialog box opens.
Double-click Rectangle.

The Edit Background Portlet dialog box opens. You can customize the appearance of the rectangle, including line color, thickness, and rounded corners, fill color, and shadow effects; or add click actions.
Edit the properties as you like, and then click OK.
On the toolbar, click Save to save the portlet and exit edit mode.

The portlet is added to the page. Example

Adding Text

In DivePort, browse to the page where you want to add the portlet.
On the DivePort toolbar, click Edit to unlock the page and enable edit mode.

The Edit menu item is replaced with edit tools, including a page context menu chevron.
On the toolbar, click the chevron.
On the page context menu, click Add a Portlet.

On the Add Portlet page, under Dashboard Design, double-click Background.

The Select a Background Type dialog box opens.
Double-click Text.

The Edit Background Portlet dialog box opens. You can customize the text and its appearance or add click actions.
Edit the properties as you like, and then click OK.
On the toolbar, click Save to save the portlet and exit edit mode.

TIP: To place a background portlet behind another portlet, while in edit mode right-click the background portlet and on the context menu, select Move to bottom.
