Adding an Image Portlet

Images can be used as design elements and static sources of information. You can use an image portlet to add images from the DivePort server or your local computer.

  1. Ensure that the image that you want to use is in the images library on the server.

  2. In DivePort, browse to the page where you want to add the image.

  3. On the DivePort toolbar, click Edit to unlock the page and enable edit mode.

    The Edit menu item is replaced with edit tools, including an Edit the page contents chevron.

  4. On the toolbar, click the chevron.

  5. On the portlet context menu, click Add a Portlet.

  6. On the Add Portlet page, under Dashboard Design, click Image.

  7. In the Edit Image Portlet dialog box, select Use an existing image from the image library, and then click Change.

    The Select an existing library file dialog box opens to the images directory.

  8. Select the image file that you want to add, and then click OK.

  9. Select Scale Image to Portlet Frame if you want the image to scale up or down to match the size of the portlet.

  10. Define Hotspots and Click Actions as needed using the appropriate buttons

  11. Click OK.

  12. Resize or relocate the portlet if necessary.

  1. On your computer, locate the image that you want to use.
  2. In DivePort, browse to the page where you want to add the image.

  3. On the DivePort toolbar, click Edit to unlock the page and enable edit mode.

    The Edit menu item is replaced with edit tools, including an Edit the page contents chevron.

  4. On the toolbar, click the chevron.
  5. On the portlet context menu, click Add a Portlet.
  6. On the Add Portlet page, under Dashboard Design, click Image
  7. In the Edit Image Portlet dialog box, select Use an existing image from the image library.

  8. Click Upload File.

    The Upload File dialog box opens.

  9. Browse to the local image file.
  10. Double-click the image file that you want to add, and then click OK.
  11. To change the directory in which the uploaded file is saved: 

    1. Click Change.

      The Select a directory or a complete file path location dialog box opens.

    2. Navigate to the directory in which to save the files.

    3. Click OK.

      The Library Save Location box is populated with the new directory path.

  12. Select Replace existing file on upload to avoid having duplicate versions of the image on the server.

  13. Click OK.

    The Upload File dialog box closes, returning you to the Edit Image Portlet dialog box.

  14. Select Scale Image to Portlet Frame if you want the image to scale up or down to match the size of the portlet.

  15. Define Hotspots and Click Actions as needed using the appropriate buttons.

  16. Click OK.

  6. In the Edit Image Portlet dialog box, select URL, and enter the URL of the image file in the text box.

  7. Select Scale Image to Portlet Frame if you want the image to scale up or down to match the size of the portlet.

  8. Define Hotspots and Click Actions as needed using the appropriate buttons.

  9. Click OK.
