Multi-Select CrossLink click actions link two portlets to each other, and allow you to pass multiple data values from one to the other. When data is updated in one portlet, triggering the click action updates specific data in the second portlet instance. Multi-Select CrossLinks do not rely on parent dimensions. Instead, they populate pick-list QuickViews or tunnel parameters in the linked portlet.
In addition to sharing dimension values, an option to link fields is available, which you can use to share other column values.
Multi-Select CrossLink click actions can be added to the following types of portlets.
- Marker
- Measures
Typically, the second portlet is hidden until the click action is triggered.
NOTE: Because multiple data values are updated with a single click action, the target portlet must have the ability to make multiple selections at once, for example using a pick-list QuickView or a tunnel script.
